Chief Editor: Dear readers, OPMG is changing

Dear readers,

Olbrycht-Palmer Media Group is approaching its one year anniversary, and to mark the occasion we’re making some changes.

As of Saturday 1 September 2018, the Olbrycht-Palmer Media Group publication will be rebranded as OPMagazine.

When OPMG was launched nearly one year ago, I didn’t know where it would lead.

The fundamental idea was to create a truly independent news organisation which cut through the noise and commentary of the 24/7 news cycle, and empowered readers by providing them with unbiased information, grounded in fact.

It was about reporting news that needed to be reported, rather than reporting news for the sake of having something to report. It was about starting conversations that needed to be started. I believed that people wanted to be informed, and not influenced, or simply entertained.

OPMG was an experiment which grew faster than I had ever expected.

During the course of our first year, we have fine-tuned how we deliver this, and believe that having done so, the next step is consolidating our news-related activities under a less ambiguous name.

By anchoring our news media operation in OPMagazine, OPMG as a broader organisation will be able to explore other avenues, which we will be announcing at a later date.

Finally, I would like to thank you, our readers — the thousands of individuals who read our publication from all over the world and made this experiment worthwhile.

We are humbled by your patronage.

My pledge to you is to continue providing a trustworthy publication for the people, and to encourage the world to expand its views and think big.

Joseph J. Olbrycht-Palmer.
